Privacy policy

Comfie tells you what to wear based on the weather. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and how you can delete it. We do not sell your data, and we do not show ads.

What we collect

We collect information you give us and information from your device when you use the app. If you sign in with Apple or Google, or subscribe to Comfie Premium, we also receive some information from them.

• Account information, such as your name, email address and account ID. You can also use Comfie as a guest, without a name or email address.
• Your settings and history, such as your comfort preferences, your outfit recommendations and the ratings you give them.
• Photos of your clothes that you choose to add to your wardrobe.
• Location, such as your device's location if you allow it, places you save, trip destinations, and an approximate location based on your IP address.
• Purchases, such as whether you subscribe to Comfie Premium. Apple handles all payments, and we never see your payment details.
• Usage and diagnostic data, such as how you use the app, crash reports, performance data and basic device information.

How we use it

We use this information to provide Comfie's features, such as the weather, outfit recommendations, your wardrobe, trips and Comfie Premium; to fit recommendations to how you feel the weather; to keep the service running and secure; and to understand how the app is used so we can fix problems and improve it.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers. We share it only with service providers that help us run Comfie, such as providers of hosting, analytics, crash reporting, weather, sign-in and subscription management, and only as needed for their work for us. We only use providers that protect your data at least as well as this policy does. We may also share information when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account exists, or until you delete it. We may delete guest accounts that have not been used for 30 days, along with their data. Our service providers keep standard server logs for a limited time to run and secure the service.

Deleting your data

You can delete your account and its data at any time in the app: go to Settings and choose Delete Account (Delete My Data if you use Comfie as a guest). This permanently deletes your account and the data stored with it, including your photos. Some data held by our analytics and subscription providers is not deleted automatically. Email us and we will delete it. If you cannot use the app, email us and we will delete everything for you.

Deleting your account does not cancel a Comfie Premium subscription. Cancel it first in your Apple account settings.

Your choices

You can use Comfie without an account, and without location access by typing a city instead. You can turn off location access and notifications at any time in your phone's settings.

This website

getcomfie.com has no accounts and no ads. We count visits with Google Analytics, which sets cookies, and Vercel Analytics, which does not. In Europe and the UK, Google Analytics loads only if you accept the cookie banner. Anywhere, you can turn it off with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of any page, and we honour the Global Privacy Control signal. If you tap "Use my location" in the live demo, your location goes to Open-Meteo to get the weather. The site's host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs.

Children

Comfie is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date.
